Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: William WETTLAUFER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Adams County Press [Friendship, Adams Co., WI], Saturday, October 8, 2001,Page 5 Column 4 DIED--WETTLAUFER--At his home at Adams Center, five miles from Friendship, Oct. 2, 1892, William WETTLAUFER, aged 54 years. Mr. WETTLAUFER was born in Syracuse, in the state of New York, in 1838. We believe that he came West several years ago, and settled in the Southern part of this State. A year ago last spring he purchased the SEE farm at Adams Center, in this town, and moved his family to it. In his new associations he soon won the respect and regard of all the community, as a kindly, honest, industrious and obliging man. The funeral was at the family residence, the service being held by Rev. P. R. Staples. The long line of carriages that followed the remains to their final resting place in Mount Repose Cemetery was the tribute of respect and esteem paid by his neighbors to the character of the man. He leaves a widow and son.
