This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Erika Hall < ehall@maqs.net > October 29, 1998 < http://files.usgwarchives.net/wi/adams/obituaries/zimbec01.txt > ==================================================================== Obituary Mable Irene Zimbeck News clipping / source unknown Presumed Adams County Times Mable Irene Bloss Zimbeck, daughter of George and Mary Larkins Bloss, was born December 19, 1876, in the town of New Chester, Adams county, Wisconsin, and passed away May 4, 1943, at the home of her son, Kenneth, near Oxford, at the age of 66 years, four months and 15 days. She grew to womanhood in her old home where she was born. She was united in marriage to Herman Zimbeck on March 4, 1896. In 1934, 38 years later Mr. Zimbeck passed away and she was left with her three sons. Mrs. Zimbeck was a good mother, neighbor and friend, and always was ready to do all that she could to help others. She united with the New Chester church many years ago. Mrs. Zimbeck remained on the home farm with her sons. Later, Kenneth moved to near Oxford, and Frank was called into the army, and the other son, Ronald, remained with his mother. Mrs. Zimbeck's health began to fail and last year she went to her son, Kenneth's home. Later she was with her half-sister, Mrs. Fenner, then returned to Kenneth's home and remained there until she passed away last Tuesday. She leaves to mourn her loss her three sons, Kenneth of Oxford, Ronald, on the old home place, and Frank with the armed forces. Besides these three sons she leaves one grandson and a half-brother, Carl Bloss of New Chester, a half-sister, Mrs. Vera Fenner of Adams, one step-sister, Mrs. Libbie Beals of Brooks, and three step-brothers, Wallace, Ulysses and Andrew McClyman of New Chester. Her brother, Frank Bloss, preceeded her in death in June 1942. Besides these near relatives she leaves many other relatives and many friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, May 6, with a short service at the home and regular services at the New Chester Congregational church. Services wee conducted by the Rev. J.T. O'Neill. Three hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Atkins and Mrs. Peters of Grand Marsh. Mrs. Atkins accompanied at the organ. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Bud De Lapp of Janesville, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Larkins of Wisconsin Dells, Mrs. Myrtle Bloss and son, Donald of Plainville.
