Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Emilie Maria ZIMBECK ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Friendship Reporter, September 18, 1919, Page 5 Emilie Maria ZIMBECK was born the 16th day of June 1861 in Nalanza Germany, and died in Westfield, the 3rd day of September 1919 at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 18 days. In 1877 she came to America with her parents and settled in Marquette County. In 1880 she was united in holy wedlock with Carl ZIMBECK, with whom she lived happily for over 35 years. This union was blessed with five children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. After their marriage they made their home on a farm in New Chester in this county, where they resided over 30 years. Nine years ago the family came to Westfield where they have since resided. During the time she lived in New Chester she was brought under the influence of God's word, and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Redeemer. She also united with the Evangelical Association and remained a faithful member to the end. In the spring of 1917 her health began to fail, caused by a breakdown of the nervous system. She weakened gradually until at last she became absolutely helpless. During the last nine months she was entirely dependent upon the help of her family and friends. It was a pity to behold her in her helplessness, and upon visiting her we were always sorry to leave without being able to assist her in any way. She received the best care possible, both from members of the family and from friends. Especially did she receive tender care from her daughter Mabel, who was with her almost all the time. God will reward her for her faithfulness. Mrs. ZIMBECK bore her afflictions patiently without a word of complaint, she is survived by three children, two sons, John and Edward, and one daughter, Mabel, one sister and one brother, besides many distant relatives and friends. Her husband and two children preceded her in death. May God comfort the bereaved and reward them with a happy reunion in heaven. (Card of thanks on same page thanks Rev. Stuempfig and others for assistance and comfort)
