As a boy he lived in the family log cabin and assisted with the farm work. When the parents grew older he gradually took up the burdens of the farm management and he still remains on the home place of 160 acres which he now owns. He successfully carries on general farming and dairying and has a good herd of graded Holstein cattle. His holdings include shares in the Farmers' Cooperative Store at Cameron and Farmers' Cheese Co. at Canton. Mr. Gulickson is one the solid men of the community, he is respected by all who know him, and is held in the highest esteem and regard. His work and worth are widely known, he is a man of good judgement and sound sense, he is a good farmer and citizen and he takes his share in everything that he believes to be for the best good of the community. Like his parents before him he is an adherent of the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Foberg, and is liberal in his support. --Taken from: History of Barron Co., Wisconsin, H. C.
