They came to America in 1861, and farmed in Vernon County, this state, until 1897, when they came to Barron County, and settled on section 21, Barron Township, where they acquired eighty acres a mile north of Barron City. After Mr. Hong’s death, his widow took up her home with her daughter, Mrs. George Gilbertson. In the family there were seven children: Gustav; Sesele, now Mrs. Nels Gyland, of Barron Township; Anna and Ida, who are dead, and Louis who is blind and lives with his sister, Mrs. George Gilbertson; Pauline, now Mrs. Martin Foss, of Barron Township; and Clara, now Mrs. Gilbertson, of Barron Township. --Transcribed from: History of Barron Co., Wisconsin, H.
