He was reared here, attended the district school, and learned farming from his father. He now owns 120 acres of the home place. The residence is a pretty modern bungalow, the other buildings are adequate and in good repair. General farming and dairying are successfully conducted, and there is a good herd of Guernsey cattle, as well as a fine drove of swine. Mr. Kahl is well known throughout the community, and is as well liked as he is well known. He has served with credit on the school board. Mr. Kahl was married on Jan. 30, 1908, at Dallas to Edith Blake, the daughter of Fred and Minnie Blake. She was born at Dallas, Oct. 4, 1886. Mr. and Mrs. Kahl have five children: Athly, Verna, Earl, Helen and Bryon. --Taken from: History of Barron Co., Wisconsin, H. C. Cooper, Jr., & Co., 1922, pg. 624.
