At Neceedah, Wis., Oct. 12, 1871, he married Julianne Hanson, also a native of Denmark. They came to Barron County in 1874 and took a homestead in Chetek Township, east of the city. They came to the city from the farm about 1881, and here he opened a blacksmith shop. He is now retired and he and his wife both live in Chetek. They have five children. Hannah is the wife of Frank Carter of Everett, Wash. J. Marie is the wife of Bryon Carter of Chetek. Josephine is a trained nurse in Davenport, Iowa. Benjamin lives in Milwaukee.
