Submitted by: Doris Baldwin 10 March 2005 ************************************************************************ Baldwin Cabins Are Sold to Nebraskan The Baldwin Cabins at 1700 S. Main st., established 15 years ago by Mrs. Mabel Baldwin, were sold last week to Clarence Erickson of Hastings, Nebr., a former Barron resident. Erickson, who has returned to Hastings for his wife and four children, will take possession of the 12 cabins, filling station and adjacent residence next Wednesday, Mrs. Baldwin said today. It was understood that Erickson, who has operated a tourist court at Hastings for several years, intends to construct a new motel on the site. Further details were not immediately available. Mrs. Baldwin said that her plans are indefinite but that she would continue to live "in or around Rice Lake."
