Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Anna Belle (Roux) Amans in December 14, 1949 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Anna Belle Amans Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Belle Amans, 77, of Rice Lake, were held Dec. 5 at St. Joseph's church. Msgr. Peter F. Meyer conducted the rites, and burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were Gordon Ritchie, Eldon Amans, Guy Bungartz, Harlen Ferg, Robert Rick and Ralph Ritchie. Mrs. Amans died Dec. 2 at a local hospital of a liver ailment. She had been ill for several months. Mrs. Amans was born in Kingweck, Quebec, Canada, Feb. 13, 1872, and came to Rice Lake at the age of 11. She was married April 6, 1891, to Fred Amans at Rice Lake, and spent the remainder of her life here. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Alter society. She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Charles (Victoria) O'Brien of Long Branch, N.J.; Mrs. Henry (Irene) Ritchie, Mrs. Fred (Laura) Mercier, and Mrs. John (Clarise) Bungartz, all of Rice Lake; Mrs. Arnold (Emily) Ferg of Manawa, Wis.; Mrs. Eddie (Violet) Glauder of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Ken (Pearl) Rick of Milwaukee; two sons, Harry of Rice Lake and Maurice of Beloit; two sisters, Mrs. William Turcotte of West Allis and Mrs. Amanda Dupuis of Ellensburg Center, N.Y.; one brother, Joe Roux of Wood, Wis., 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Belle Godbout, Mrs. Norman Davis and Mrs. Ben Larson, all of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Minnie Wightman of Hayward and Mrs. A. Trossenof North Dakota.
