Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Anton Amans in June 8, 1932 in Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Anton Amans Anton Amans, one of the first settlers in the township of Doyle, died at his home near Dobie Thursday morning at the age of 80. He was born in Stanfold, Canada, Feb. 3, 1852, and later came to Hartford, Conn., where he was married to Miss Philomena Perry May 12, 1872. In 1880 they moved to the town of Doyle and cleared 40 acres of wild land and have lived there since. Surviving are his wife and seven children: Mrs. John (Louise) Brow of Markville, Minn., Mrs. C. (Obeline) Bassa (sic) of Campia, Mrs. Michael (Leontine) Mullen of Oak Grove, Mrs. William (Delena) Germain of Detroit, Alexander Amans of Long Lake, Raymond of Rice Lake and Mrs. Arsene (Vinnie) Morneau of Dobie; one sister, Mrs. Ida Greene of Yakima, Wash., and 30 grandchildren. One son, Max, died twenty years ago. Funeral services were held Saturday morning from Our Lady of Lourdes church at Dobie and interment was in the Dobie cemetery. Note: Believe that Mrs. C.
