The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. **************************************************************************************************************************** Obituary of Charles Edward Amans in July 17, 1991 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Speedway Judge Dies Forty-nine year old Charles Amans died Saturday of cardiac arrest while at the Rice Lake Speedway where he judged. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Cedar Lake with Rev. John Sandstrom officiating. Interment took place at Cedar Lake Cemetery where military rites were accorded him by the Birchwood American Legion Post. Mr. Amans was born Oct. 28, 1941 in Rice Lake where he attended school, graduating in 1959. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 4 years during the Vietnam War. In 1967 he was married to Delores Higgins in Spooner. He had been a Mikana resident for many years and owned and operated Amans TV in Spooner. He was a member of the Birchwood American Legion Post. Since 1978, Mr. Amans was a volunteer firefighter with the Rice Lake Fire Department at Mikana. He is survived by his wife, Delores; one son, Michael of Mikana; one daughter, Sandra of Mikana; five half brothers, Lloyd of Middleton, Myron of Rice Lake, DeWayne King of The Dells, Ore., Miles King of Tacoma, Wash., and Larry King of Minneapolis; and one half sister, Jeanette Kloepfer of Chicago.
