Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron County News Shield, Barron, WI Thurs 10 Feb 1955 page 2 col 6 Evan A Amundson Evan A Amundson, the son of Knute and Ragnild Evenson Amundson, was born at Valers, Norway, Feb 18, 1866. He came to the United States with his parents when he was four years old. On August 5, 1893 he was married to Krestina Peterson, in Steen, Minn. They moved to the Dallas community the following spring, where they have made their home since. Mr Amundson died at Lakeside hospital, Rice Lake, Feb 1, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 12 days. He is survived by his wife, Krestina, of Dallas; 13 children, Minnie, Mrs John Halverson of Dallas, Carl Amundson of Ridgeland, Inga, Mrs Gene Clumpner of Barron, Lillie, Mrs Harry Anderson of Milwaukee, Hannah, Mrs Art Harstad and Ellen, Mrs Ed Nelson of Eau Claire, Harold Amundson of Barron, Oswald Amundson of Dallas, Ralph Amundson of Pigeon Falls, Stanley Amundson of Barron, Ardis, Mrs Al Hanson of Eau Claire, Dale Amundson of Barron, Betty, Mrs Frank Klatwiter of Phillips; 31 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Anna Halberg of Webster, and two brothers, John Amundson and Oscar Amundson of Dallas. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb 3, at the Dallas Lutheran church, with Rev Hj S Froiland officiating.
