Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Fred Amans in July 3, 1946 in Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Fred Amans Fred Amans, 76, 106 W. Marshall st., Rice Lake, died Tuesday, June 25, of a heart ailment at his home after an illness of six and a half years. Funeral services were held Friday, June 28, at St. Joseph's church, with Rev. Bernard Niggemann officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Ritchie, Guy Bungartz, Donald Mercier, Earl Bungartz, Elden Amans and Roger Ritchie. Mr. Amans was born March 27, 1870 in Rice Lake. He married Annabelle Roux April 6, 1891 at Dobie. They made their home at Rice Lake. Mr. Amans had been a retired farmer since 1919. He was a member of St. Joseph's church. He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles (Victoria) O'Brien of Long Branch, N.J., Mrs. Henry (Irene) Ritchie, Mrs. Fred (Laura) Mercier, Mrs. John (Clarice) Bungartz of Rice Lake, Mrs. Arnold (Emily) Ferg of Manawa, Wis., Mrs. Eddie (Violet) Glauder of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth (Pearl) Rick of Milwaukee; two sons, Maurice of Beloit, and Harry of Rice Lake; 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers. Those from out of town at the funeral were Mrs. William Godbout of St. Paul, Mrs. Philomine Whightman of Hayward, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Amans of Billings, Mont., Mr. and Mrs. Norman Davis of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bonikowske of Manawa, Mrs. Leonie Turcotte of West Allis, and Joe Roux of Milwaukee. © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm
