Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Lyle Amans in July 29, 2003 Chetek Alert (Chetek, Barron County, WI) Lyle Amans Lyle Amans, 84, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., formerly of Chetek, died Thursday evening, July 24, 2003, at Lakeside South Nursing and Rehabilitation, Chippewa Falls. He was born March 15, 1919, in Rice Lake to Helen (Oliver) and Alexander Amans. He grew up in the Almena, Dallas and Rice Lake area. Lyle married Mary B. Tallman on June 24, 1943, at the Methodist parsonage in Chetek. They moved to Baraboo, Wis., where he was employed at the munitions plant until 1945. They moved back to Rice Lake, where he and his father farmed on the Stout Farm near Birchwood. They moved to Chetek in 1947, and he was employed at Huset Lumber Company in Chetek. He worked as a butcher for Sykes Meats Products in Cameron for 30 years, retiring in 1981. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1998. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Chippewa Falls; a son, Dick (Bonnie) Amans of Chippewa Falls; a daughter, Sharon (John) Kreier of Cameron; a sister, Virginia Zemke of White Bear Lake, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Ricky Amans, Missy (Scott) Boehm, Brandon (Kari) Amans, Brent Kreier, Charlotte (Randy) Glenna; and eight great-grandchildren, Cody and Margo Boehm, Bo, Kole and Jasper Amans, Chas and Trevor Hegna, and Joey Glenna. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daugther, Claudia Jean Amans in infancy; two sisters, Katie Lipke, Leona Zemke; and four brothers, Gerald, Mickey, Al, and Vernon Amans. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 29, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev.
