Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Philomena (Parre) Amans in Wednesday, August 9, 1933 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Philomena Amans Mrs. Philomena Amans, for the past 52 years a resident of this district, living at Dobie for the past 27 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arsen Amans (sic), of Route 1, Thursday evening, following a stroke suffered about a year ago. She was born in Canada March 25, 1856, being 77 years, 4 months and 7 days old at the time of her death. About 70 years ago she moved with her folks to Hartford, Conn., where she was married to Anton Amans about 60 years ago. In 1881 they moved to Rice Lake, and in 1906 moved to the farm near Dobie. Mr. Amans died June 2, 1932. She is survived by seven children, one son, Max, having died 27 years ago. Living are Louise (Mrs. John Brow), Markville, Minn., Ovilen (Mrs. C. Beffa), Campia; Leah (Mrs. Michael Mullen), Oak Grove; Delena (Mrs. Wm. Germain), Ensign, Mich.; Delvina (Mrs. Arsen Morneau), Dobie; Alex of east of Rice Lake, Raymond of this city. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday from Our Lady of Lourdes church at Dobie, Rev. M.A. Schanz officiating.
