Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Celestine (Derousseau) Boehmer in Wed, Sept. 10, 1975, Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Celestine Boehmer Dies Here Sunday One of the Rice Lake's area's oldest continuous residents, Mrs. Celestine Boehmer, died Sunday at age 89 at Lakeside hospital, where she had been confined for several weeks. Her funeral was conducted Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes parish at Dobie with Rev. John Spanjers of St. Joseph's in Rice Lake officiating. Burial was in the Dobie cemetery. Born Henrietta (sic) Derousseau in the Dobie vicinity on Jan. 15, 1886 as the daughter of pioneer settlers. Mrs. Boehmer grew up there. She was married in 1904 to Jeff Roux and the couple farmed east of Rice Lake. He died in 1936. In 1939 she was married to Jacob Boehmer of Rice Lake. Mr. Boehmer died in 1953. Mrs. Boehmer, who resided at 135 W. Evans st., is survived by two sons, Louis and Leslie of Rice Lake, two daughters, Mrs. Rita O'Brien of Rice Lake and Mrs. Annie Popple of Cornell, and one brother, Phillip Derousseau of Tacoma, Wash. Also surviving are three stepchildren, 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
