Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake with Fr. Eugene Teofilo officiating and burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Friday at Appleyard's where there will be a wake service at 8 p.m. and a Women of the Moose service at 9 p.m. The former Mary Victoria Demers was born May 5, 1894 in Barron County. On April 25, 1916, she married Edward Chartier at Dobie. He died on March 11, 1984. She was a 50-year member of the Women of the Moose in Rice Lake and was also a member of the Rice Lake Senior Citizen's Center. She is survived by two sons, DuWayne of San Leandro, Calif., and Clarence (Bud) of Gresham, Ore.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
