Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Iva (Nelson)[Kubista] Crotteau in Wed., Jul. 1, 1992 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Iva (Kubista) Crotteau Iva (Kubista) Crotteau, 64, of Sarona, died Friday at Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake. A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shell Lake with Rev. Edd Senn officiating. Burial was in the Sarona Cemetery. The former Iva Nelson was born April 10, 1928 in Barron County and married Charles Kubista in Haugen on June 1, 1946. They resided in Sarona Township and farmed. She was employed for 18 years at Birchwood Manufacturing Co. Mr. Kubista died in1986. She then married Orville Crotteau in 1987 in Shell Lake. They also resided in Sarona township. She had been a member of St. Catherine's and St. Joseph's Catholic churches, as well as the church's choir and St. Cecelia Guild. Survivors include her husband, Orville, three sons, Jerry, Frank and Dan Kubista, all of Sarona; one daughter, Jean Benavides of Rochester, Minn.;one stepdaughter, Audrey Cusick of Shell Lake; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Hendricks of Rice Lake; and two brothers, Theodore Nelson of Salem, Oreg., and Norman Nelson of Sarona.
