Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Josephine (Slayton) Crotteau in May 15, 1991 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Services Held Tuesday Josephine Crotteau, 48, of Rice Lake died of cancer Saturday at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake. Rev. Brendan Kunda officiated and burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. The former Josephine Slayton was born Sept. 25, 1942 in the Township of Dovre. On May 5, 1962 she married Lloyd Crotteau at Haugen. She and her husband then lived in Canton, and in 1965 she went to work for Birchwood Manufacturing in Rice Lake where she had been employed until January. She obtained her general education degree from Rice Lake High School in 1985 and also worked as a cook at Dev's Restaurant in Rice Lake. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; three sons, Dave of Almena, Dan of Cameron, and Doug of Canton; three grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille Houston, Emily Paulson, and LaVerne Stephen, all of Rice Lake, and Jean Robarge of Waukesha; and four brothers, Francis, LeRoy, and Charles all of Rice Lake, and Robert of Minneapolis.
