Crotteau, 86, of Rice Lake died Sept. 12 at the Lakeview Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial was this Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake, with Rev. Kevin Gordon officiating and interment in the church cemetery. Mrs. Crotteau was born Oct. 8, 1911 to Fred and Anna (Baker) Bruha. She graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1928 and from Barron County Normal School as a teacher in 1929. She married Maurice Crotteau on July 16, 1936 in Pine City, Minn. They raised turkeys and cattle on their farm, and she taught school in Haugen and the Canton areas. She is survived by three sons, Franklin of Austin, Texas, and Richard and Thomas, both of Rice Lake; three daughters, Olicia Mlejnek of Haugen, Beverly Wiesner of Nenana, Ark., and Marion Eggleston of Sarona; two stepsons, 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Fetting of Ladysmith and Dorothy Kodesh of Haugen; and two brothers, Fred of Cicero, Ill., and Edward of Haugen. Mrs. Crotteau was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice in 1980; a son, John in 1995; and a stepdaughter, Valencia, in 1949.
