Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Maurice Crotteau in April 30, 1980 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Maurice Crotteau Maurice Crotteau, 73, for many years a building contractor in the Rice Lake area, died Sunday evening at Lakeview Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral services are planned Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic church with Rev. John Spanjers officiating, and burial will be made in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Appleyard home for funerals, where there will be a parish rosary at 8 p.m. and Moose memorial services at 9 p.m. Mr. Crotteau was born Oct. 22, 1906 in Rice Lake, and had spent his entire life in this area, working for many years as a carpenter and building contractor. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Bruha; six sons, Maurice, jr., of Newport, R.I., Delbert of Hutchinson, Minn., Franklin of Ridge Crest, Calif., and Richard, John and Thomas of Rice Lake, and three daughters, Olicia Mlejnek, Beverly Stoeklen and Marion Newman, all of Rice Lake. There are also two brothers, Fred Crotteau of Thorp and William of Canton, and two sisters, Exzillia Kummett of Rice Lake and Valina Boury of Manitowoc, as well as 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
