Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Paul Crotteau in Wed, Sept. 9, 1936 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Paul Crotteau Paul Crotteau, better known as "Joe," was born in Canada on January 17, 1873, and died in a Minneapolis hospital last Friday, of heart trouble. Mr. Crotteau moved to this country 52 years ago, settling on a farm east of this city with his parents. He lived in this vicinity until 25 years ago, when he moved to Cloquet, Minn., where he engaged in farming. Recently he discontinued farming for employment in a paper mill located at St. Cloud. The funeral was held from the Catholic church in Cloquet Monday, with a large concourse of relatives and friends present to pay final tribute. He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters; surviving are his wife, eight sons, three daughters, five brothers, and three sisters. Those from here who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Mike DeMars and family, Mrs. Henry Crotteau, Mr. and Mrs. Art Ryan, Mr. and Mrs. Edward DeMars, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis DeMars.
