Crotteau in Jan. 23, 1991 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) William D. Crotteau Funeral services were held Tuesday for William D. Crotteau, 87, of Rice Lake, who died Saturday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Rice Lake. The services were held from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake with Rev. Brendan Kunda officiating. Interment followed in Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Mr. Crotteau was born Dec. 5, 1903 in the Town of Doyle. Later, he and his parents moved to the Town of Sumner where he grew up and started farming. He married Helen Heuer on June 4, 1932 at Pine City, Minn. He then continued farming in the township until his retirement. He was an avid sportsman and was named the November 1989 Woodsman of the Month in the Woodsman magazine. He is survived by his wife, Helen; seven sons, Dennis, Robert, Kenneth, and Lloyd, all of Rice Lake, Dale of Barron, and Jerry and Raymond both of Cameron; three daughters, Linda VanLanen of Green Bay, Patricia Frisinger from Barron, and Caroline Engstrom of Rice Lake; 29 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Exxillia Kummet from Rice Lake and Vallina Boury from Manitowoc.
