Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Ferdinand Demars in April 6, 1922 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Ferdinand Demars Ferdinand Demars, a prosperous farmer on Route 5, died Wednesday night, March 29, of tuberculosis of the bowels from which he had been a sufferer for several months. Mr. Demars was born on the farm where he died, and where he had always made his home, on May 1, 1878, and reached the age of 43 years, 10 months and 29 days. He was married on July 26, 1903, to Miss Demerise Demers, and to this union six children were born, three of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow and three children: Clifford, Mabel and Luvern; his father, Julien Demars; and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Wood of Shell Lake and Mrs. Frank Paradis of Minneapolis. His sisters and some cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Crotteau of Sarona, were here for the funeral which was held on Saturday morning from St. Joseph's church, the Rev. Fr. A. J. Van Helden officiating, with interment at St. Joseph's cemetery. An upright, industrious, affable man, Mr. Demars was held in high esteem by many friends.
