Demars in Fri, Feb 14, 1908 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) RICE LAKE LOSES CITIZEN Frederick I. Demars, a Resident of Barron County for 38 Years, Called to his Reward. Clean in Business Affairs. Long Life Well Lived Frederick I. Demars was born Quebec, Canada, Nov. 27, 1845 and died at his home in this city, Friday, February 7, 1908. In 1865 he was married to Mary Rosier and to this union have been born five children: Wilfred A., Anselm J., Joseph J., Mrs. J. B. Morneau and Mrs. John Wilz. In 1869 Mr. and Mrs Demars came from Canada to Menomonie, Wis., and one year later they located in the town of Stanfold where Mr. Demars took a homestead. Here he remained until 1881 when he moved to this city and engaged in the mercantile business. In politics a democrat Mr. Demars enjoyed the confidence of all who came in contact with hime. For five years he served as member of the town board of Stanfold and after his removal to this city he represented the second ward in the city council and was a member of the county board of supervisors. In the death of F.I. Demars Rice Lake loses a most respected and honorable citizen, one who by industry and business integrity had acquired a comfortable competency and who wronged no man acquiring it.
