Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Delima (Santerre) Demers in Wed, Dec. 14, 1949 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Delima Demers Funeral services for Mrs. Delima Demers, 81, 29 E. Eau Claire st., were held Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church with Mgsr. Peter F. Meyer officiating. J.P. Schneider was in charge. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were John Wilz, jr., F.D. McCrank, Maurice Paul, Rufus Wilz, Luvern Burton and Elzear Demers. Mrs. Demers died Dec. 8 at her home of a heart ailment, after a brief illness. Mrs. Demers was born Delima Santerre in Canada, Sept. 8, 1868. She came to Rice Lake when whe was 16 years old and spent the remainder of her life here. She was married to Wilfred A. Demers July 4, 1886. Mrs. Demers was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic church. Survivors are one son, R.J. Demers of Rice Lake; eight daughters, Alda Demers of Cicero, Ill., Odile Demers of Rice Lake, Mrs. Hazel Mesang of Rice Lake, Mrs. Leontine Rill of Clintonville, Mrs. Clara Ann Prior of Lockport, Ill., Mrs. Maurine France of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Antoinette Bahr of Sturgeon Bay and Mrs. Carol Barrows of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, Arthur Santerre of Los Angeles, Calif., Philip Santerre of Superior and Joseph Santerre of Glenwood City; one sister, Odile Campbell of Manson, Wash., and six grandchildren. All the children, grandchildren and two brothers attended the funeral.
