Demers (son of Alexander Demers and Evalina Demers) From Rice Lake Chronotype, Dec. 7, 1994 "George C. Demers, 79, of Longview, Wash., and originally from Barron County, died Nov. 9 at a nursing home there. Private services were held. Mr. Demers was born Jan. 25, 1915 in the Town of Stanfold to Evelina and Alex Demers. He left Rice Lake in 1965, when he moved to Longview. He was a public works director in Kalama, Wash. He was a member of the Longview American Legion, Longview Eagles, the Rice Lake Moose Lodge and Kalama Lions Club. He enjoyed playing pool, hunting and fishing. Mr. Demers is survived by two sons, George of Billings, Mont., and Douglas of Kelso, Wash.; two daughters, Barbara Blankenship of Renton, Wash., and Nancy Baumberger of Longview; a brother, Harold of Monroe, La.; a sister Averyl Mancuso of Cedarburg; nine grand-children; and 12 great-grandchildren."
