Demers in Wed, Dec 23, 1992 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) John DeMers, 75, of Thousand Palms, Calif., formerly of Rice Lake, died Nov. 14 in California. Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at Steele Chapel in Longview Memorial Park. Mr. DeMers was born March 6, 1917 in Rice Lake, where he was raised. After moving to California (believe this should be Washington), he was part owner of the Triangle Bowl. He was a member of the Cowlitz Valley Moose and American Legion, and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Thousand Palms, Calif.; a daughter, Cheryl Gerry of Portland, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Leslie Price of Lynden, Wash.; two grandchildren, Steve Gerry of San Francisco and Christine Gerry of Eugene, Ore.; two stepgrandsons, Chris and Cole Price, both of Lynden, Wash.; two brothers, Harold and George; and a sister, Averila Mancuso.
