Demers (son of Pierre Zoel Demers and Celinire Robarge) From Rice Lake Chronotype, Wed., July 13, 1955 HL: Louis J. DeMars, Ex-Bear Lake Chairman Dies "Sudden death claimed Louis J. DeMars, 57, of 19 Ann st., Rice Lake last Monday night while he was loading cement blocks at the Fehr Concrete products plant. Mr. DeMars, who was born in Rice Lake on July 24, 1898 served as a town chairman of Bear Lake for 7 years before he resigned and moved to Rice Lake in 1953. After his marriage to the former Beatrice Oliver, who survives, he worked for the International Harvester Corp. in Chicago, returning in 1944. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Rice Lake's First Methodist church with Rev. Stanley Hunt of Superior officiating. Interment will be in Nora cemetery. Besides his wife, Mr. DeMars is survived by a son, L. Ben, Rice Lake and 2 grandchildren."
