Paro 12 March 2001 ==================================================================== OBITUARY The Almighty has again seen fit to visit us and it is with regrets that we are called upon to chronicle the death of Mrs. Homer Derochy which occurred at her home here on Monday, March 13, 1916, of paralysis. The deceased was born in the Province of Quebec, Canada, Feb. 12, 1854, and had reached the age of 62 years, 1 month and 1 day. Her childhood days and early married life was spent in Canada, but with her husband she came to this country about thirty-three years ago, and settled on a farm about one mile east of here, where they resided until four years ago when their son took charge of the farm and they moved to this village. The deceased is survived by her husband, Homer Derochy, and seven children two sons and five daughters, two children, and infant son and a daughter, Mrs. Paul Dubois, preceded their mother in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Zip Biron, Mrs. Chas. Miller, and Med and Napoleon Derochy of Rice Lake, Mrs. D. Derouse and Mrs. Coral Maxon of Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Wesley Knowlton of Bloomer. The funeral was held Thursday from Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Dobie and interment made in the Dobie cemetery. Out of town relatives at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Derochy of Dayton, Minn. The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to their neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted them during the illness and after the death of their beloved wife and mother. -- Source unknown.
