Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Edward Derousseau in Wed., Jan. 11, 1950 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Edward Derousseau Funeral services for Edward Derousseau, 82, a retired pioneer farmer living at Rt. 4-A, Rice Lake, were held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church with Msgr. Peter F. Meyer officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were William Burton, Med Derousseau, Eugene Demars, Edward Funk, Fred Roux and Joe Amans. Mr. Derousseau died at his home Jan. 6 of a a liver ailment. He was born in Tingwick, Canada, in 1867 and moved to Rice Lake when a young man. He was married to Mary Claire LaLiberty Smith at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Dobie in 1897. He was a long-time member of St. Joseph's church. After his first wife's death, he was married to Mrs. Frank Derousseau. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Zelmae Haddick of Chippewa Falls, Marie V. Derousseau (the former Mrs. Roy F. Geisert) of Minneapolis and Mrs. Joseph Stahl of Binford, N.D.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. John Darcey of Rice Lake. He was preceded in death by two sons, Edward and Francis J. Derousseau. A third son, Eusebe A., died Monday night, very unexpectedly. The Schneider funeral home was in charge.
