Submitted by: Kent Robarge 10 December 2007 **************************************************************************************************************************** Obituary of Firment Derousseau in March 2, 1916 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) The Grim Reaper, Death, has again visited our midst and removed from us Firmant Derouso (sic), and old and respected resident of this vicinity, who died Wednesday night, Feb. 22, of diabetes. Mr. Derouso wsa born June 8th, 1843, in the Province of Quebec, Canada, and had reached the age of 72 years, 8 months and 15 days. On Aug. 6, 1867, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Demers and together they immigrated to this country about thirty-eight years ago. From this union were born thirteen children, six sons and seven daughters. One son and two daughters have preceded their father to the great Beyond. All are living in this vicinity with the exception of two sons, Domonic of Alberta, Canada, and Phillip of Tacoma, Wash. Besides his wife and children he leaves an aged brother, who resides in Kansas, and two sisters, one living in Minnesota and the other in Maine, many grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, having lived to see the fourth generation. The funeral was held at Dobie, Saturday, Rev. LeGuillon officiating, a large number of sympathizers following the remains to its last resting place. Mrs. Derouso and children kindly thank those who assisted them during the illness and after the death of their beloved husband and father. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family in their sad bereavement.
