They have the deepest sympathy of their many neighbors and friends in their sad bereavement. Obituary of Henriette (Demers) Derousseau in Thurs., Aug. 22, 1918 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co. WI) Henrietta Demers was born at St. Christopher, Canada, Feb. 22, 1848, and died of dropsy August 11, 1918, at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 17 days. She spent her early days in Canada where she was married to Firman Derouso in 1867. They came to this country thirty-eight years ago to carve a home out of a wilderness. Being of the sturdy stock of the early pioneers their efforts were crowned with success. Her husband preceded her in death five years ago, also an infant daughter who died in Canada. There are left to mourn a beloved mother, five sons and five daughters: Mrs. Jesse Thibert, Mrs. Ed Beaudoin, Mrs. Antone King, Mrs. Jeffry Roue, Mrs. Frank Secore, and Mederick Derouseau, all of this place, Joe and Cyril of Rice Lake, Dominick of Canada, and Phillip of Seattle, Wash. The deceased was a noble woman, a tender and loving mother, a kind and helpful neighbor. She enjoyed doing for others more than anything else. Her sufferings were endured with great fortitude. All her trust was placed in One whom she faithfully served all her life. Interment was made at Dobie, Aug. 14, at 10 o'clock with solemn High Mass, Fr. Keiffer officiating. A large procession followed the remains to their last resting place, showing their esteem and respect to the deceased. "Gone, but not forgotten."
