Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron County News Shield - Wed 28 Apr 1965 page 4 col 6 - obituary Mrs Mary Eckley Mrs Mary Eckley, 89, of Dallas died Sunday, Apr 25 at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Trondheim, Norway on Nov 30, 1875 and came to the Town of Maple Grove with her parents when she was two. She married Peter Eckley on Sept 22, 1900 at New Richmond and has made her home in Dallas for many years. She was an active member of the Dallas Lutheran church and had served as president of the Ladies Aid. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Viola Muenchow, Milwaukee and Mrs Mabel Gehler of Dallas; two sons, Norman of Portland, Oregon and Arthur of Two Rivers, Wis; five granchildren and a brother, Martin Nelson of Hillsdale. Her husband and son, Harris preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Apr 27 at the Dallas Lutheran church with Rev John Olson officiating. Burial was in the Dallas Cemetery.
