Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Josephine (Labbe) Forrest in Wed, Feb. 15, 1950 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. John Forrest Funeral services for Mrs. John Forrest, 75, of Birchwood, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Dobie. Father Gerald F. Mahon officiated. J. P. Schneider had charge of arrangements. Burial was in Dobie cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry LaPointe, Ted Neau, Harold Drew, Lloyd Kelly, Hans Plain and Leslie McLeod. Mrs. Forrest died unexpectedly early Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wood in Rice Lake, where she had been staying to be near her husband, who is seriously ill in St. Joseph's hospital. Mrs. Josephine Forrest was born in Eagle River, Mich., Sept. 24, 1874. She was married to John Forrest at Dobie Aug. 9, 1905. The couple had lived at Birchwood for several years. They also lived for a time in Rice Lake and Campia. She is survived by her husband, John Forrest; three step-children, Ray P. Forrest of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. John (Marie) McLeod of Birchwood and Mrs. John (Irene) Okonek of Spooner; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Gries of Lake Linden, Mich., and Mrs. Della Storey of Hermosa Beach, Calif. and five grandchildren. Out of town friends and relatives at the funeral were Mrs. Albert Vaelker of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ella Sullivan and Mrs. Frank Sullivan of Hibbing, Minn., Mrs. Frances Labby of St. Paul, Minn. Victor Wood and Alex Forrest of Hibbing, Minn., Mrs. Minnie Fournier and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kaiser of Minneapolis, Mrs. Kator Harum of Solon Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fournier and Mr. and Mrs. Joquish of Minong, and Ray P. Forrest of Baton Rouge, La.
