Hanson in May 30, 1990 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Carl J. Hanson Funeral services were Saturday at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake for Carl J. Hanson, 76, of rural Rice Lake, who died Thursday at his home. Rev. David Johnson officiated and interment followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Hanson was born May 20, 1914 in Clayton, and married Pearl Grosskreutz in St. Paul, Minn., on Nov. 19, 1938 in St. Paul. He was employed there by Booth Cold Storage until 1942, when he moved to the home farm in the Town of Vance Creek. They have farmed in the Stanfold Township since 1952. Mr. Hanson was also employed by the Barron County Highway Department for 22 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Hanson is survived by his wife, Pearl; six sons, Bernard of Racine, Richard of Maplewood, Minn., Gary of Champlin, Minn., Paul of Rice Lake, Bruce of rural Rice Lake, and Mark of Cumberland; two daughters, Bethinne Sockness of Rice Lake, and Diane Robarge of Canton; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Hanson of California; and by a sister, Christine Rye of Prairie Farm.
