Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron Co News Shield 26 April 1928 Dallas Knute Hanson of North Dallas, an old pioneer, died Tuesday after a lingering illness. pg 7 col 4 Knute K Hanson, born in Norway on December 18, 1851, died at his home in Maple Grove on Tuesday, April 17, at the age of 77 years. Mr Hanson came to America in 1873 and settled upon land which remained his home until his death. He had been poorly for years with asthma and heart trouble. He leaves his wife and six children to mourn his departure; Alfred at home; Mrs Clara Dalbert of Minneapolis; Mrs Tom Hanson of Chetek; Mrs John Lewis, Mrs Erick Severude and Mrs Sigurd Lewis. Four children preceded him in death. Funeral services were held from the Norwegian Lutheran church in Maple Grove on Friday. Burial was made in the New Scandinavian cemetery.
