Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron County News Shield Barron, WI Thurs 14 Mar 1935 page 5 col 6 Christ Jacobson Christ Jacobson of Dallas, aged 78 years, died at Lakeside hospital from injuries sustained the preceding Monday when he slipped on ice and fell. Services were held at the Maple Grove Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, the Rev A O Running officiating. Obituary 1934 Christian Jacobson Christian Jacobson Hestkind, who had been living alone in a little house in Dallas since he retired from his farm in Maple Grove, slipped and fell on the ice on Monday morning, March 4, and fractured his hip. He was taken to a Rice Lake hospital but died a few days later. He was 78 years old, being born in Valders, Norway, on September 15, 1856. He was for many years sexton of the Nye Scandinavia church and he was buried in the cemetery surrounding that church. His wife Marit died about ten years ago. They had two daughters who are both dead. There are five living grandchildren as follows: Pearl Amundson, Agnes Amundson, Clarice Lyste, Olger Nelson, Ralph Nelson. Two brothers survive him as follows: Sever Jacobson of Hatton, ND and Terval Jacobson of Green Bush, Minn.
