Submitted by: Kent Robarge 10 December 2007 **************************************************************************************************************************** Obituary of Anton King in Wed., Apr. 2, 1952 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Anton King, 75, Buried Today Funeral services for Anton King, 75, of 135 W. Stout st., a lifelong resident of Barron county, were held this morning at St. Joseph's church with Msgr. Peter F. Meyer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. King died Sunday a local hospital after a lingering illness. A retired farmer, Mr. King was born in the town of Doyle on Oct. 16, 1877, and grew to manhood there. On May 14, 1901, he was married at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Dobie. He and Mrs. King, who survives, observed their golden wedding anniversary a year ago. The couple had made their home at the Stout street residence for many years. Mr. King was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Also surviving are five sons and two daughters, Anton, jr., Mrs. Mike (Cecilia) Schnacky, Louis, Francis, Medric, Mrs. Paul (Lorraine) Beach and Harvey, all of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters also survive him. They are William King of Hibbing, Richard of Rice Lake, Mrs. Melvina Susse of Detroit, Mrs. Delphine Smith of Rice Lake and Mrs. Maggie Crotteau of Canton.
