Kolsky Funeral services were held Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen for Irene Kolsky, 83, of Haugen, who died April 23 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Rev. Jordan Blecha officiated the services and burial was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rice Lake. The former Irene Crotteau was born June 27, 1902 in rural Rice Lake. She worked as a pastry cook in Minneapolis and then married Andy Urban on Oct. 12, 1937 in Pennsylvania where she also worked as a pastry cook. In 1968 her husband died and she later married Bob Kolsky on Jan. 8, 1976 in Rice Lake. They made their home in Haugen. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Rice Lake and the Rice Lake Senior Citizen's Center where she was the dance chairwoman for a number of years and also helped organize many card parties. She is survived by her husband, two stepdaughters, Bobbette Overby of Chetek and Mary Lou Winter of Mukwonago; two stepsons, Bob Kolsky, Jr., of Ladysmith and Charles Kolsky of Columbia, Md.; eight stepgrandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Eide of Chetek, Valoris Long and Violet West of Rice Lake, and Jean Sykes of Minneapolis; and two brothers, Lyman Crotteau of Beloit and Orville of Sarona. note: Jean Sykes is mentioned as Hazel's daughter in Hazel's (Eide's) obituary. Do not believe she is a sister to Irene.
