Mr. Ed. Lavaliere was born at St.
Bernard, Quebec, Dec. 3, 1853, and
moved to St. Joseph, Mo., with his
parents at the age of 11 years. After
living in Missouri for 8 years he came
to Rice Lake where his parents set-
tled on a farm.

In 1877 he was married to Louise
Roberge and 10 children were born to
them, all of whom are living except
two who died in infancy.

After his marriage, Mr. Lavaliere
spent most of his life on the farm,
but he was a strong believer of good
roads and good schools, as he served
as road master and school clerk for a
number of years.

Mr. Lavaliere was a strong and
healthy man all thru his life until a short
time ago. He didn’t feel well for
about two months. He died March 27,
1917, of arterio sclerosis, at the age
of 64 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
The funeral was held at Dobie on
March 29, Rev. Peter Dickops officiat-
ing, and the remains interred in Our
Lady of Lourdes cemetery.

A wfe and eight children, Mrs.
Miles McLaughlin, Mrs. Cyril Der-
ouseau, Mrs. L.E. Gonyer, Mrs. Ed.
Forrest, Mrs. Nap Derocher, William,
Eddie and Anna Lavaliere, ten grand
children, a sister, Mrs. P. Gagner, all
of Rice Lake, Mr. John Lavaliere and
Mrs. Joe Campbell, a brother and sis-
ter of Spring Brook, and a sister,
Mrs. Francis Desair of Kansas, are
left to mourn the loss of a loving hus-
band, father, and brother.

Our home is dark without thee--
We miss thee everywhere.
