LaBrie, 57, died suddenly at the Wisconsin General hospital at Madison on Friday evening, March 5, after a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church, the Rev. Fr. Niggemann officiating and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. Mr. LaBrie was born at Red Lake Falls, Minn., on Feb. 7, 1880, and came to Barron county in 1889 with his parents. He was united in marriage with Alice Demars on June 16, 1903. Five children were born to this union. Mr. LaBrie, a respected resident of this city for many years, was well known as an old-time fiddler. He is survived by his wife and five children, Selina (Mrs. Alfred Anderson) of Route 4, Zella (Mrs. Ernest Brempell) of this city, Nola (Mrs. John Robarge) of Dobie, Adolph and Violet at home. Also two brothers, Harvey and Obert, of Moxee City, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Seppener of Kettle River, Minn., and Mrs. John Funk of Carver, Minn., three half brothers and two half sisters of Washington."
