Rice Lake Chronotype: Genevieve (Gen) Larson, 87, of Spearfish, S.D. formerly of Rice Lake, died January 14, 1993 at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility. A memorial mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Dobie. The former Genevieve Lilly was born May 1, 1905 in Varina, IA to Mabel and Arthur Lilly. Her family moved to Rice Lake when she was 3. She taught in rural schools in the Rice Lake area for several years. On August 28, 1930, she married Godrey Larson, who preceded her in death August 23, 1948. After his death, Mrs. Larson continued his business of selling cemetery memorials for Wells Memorials of Barron. She moved to Spearfish, S.D. in 1953 and owned and operated the Echo Hill Motel in Beulah, Wy. Survivors include a son, Wayne of Sundance, WY: two daughters, Cathy Banning of Rapid City, SD and Mary Ann Staebell, Aurora, CO; a sister, Catherine Peterson of Rice Lake; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm
