Submitted by: Kent Robarge 10 December 2007 **************************************************************************************************************************** Obituary of Josephine (Huerth) McGeough in Jan. 6, 1993 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Josephine McGough (sic) Josephine McGough (sic), 89, of Rice Lake, died Friday at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Brendan Kunda officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. McGough (sic) was born April 19, 1903 to Anna and Theodore Huerth at Sarona, where she grew up and received her elementary education. She worked on her parents' farm adn became an avid gardener and grower of flowers. She married James McGough (sic) on Aug. 28, 1929 in Dobie. They farmed in Oak Grove Township until their retirement in 1968, when they moved to Rice Lake. Mr. McGough (sic) died in August 1977. Mrs. McGough (sic) served as Oak Grove town clerk for several years. She received her Academy of Friendship Degree from the Women of the Moose, was active in the Rice Lake Senior Citizens, and, in 1969, finished her course work through correspondence and received her diploma from Rice Lake High School. Mrs. McGough(sic) is survived by two sons, DeWayne McGeough of Washington, D.C.,and Allyn McGeough of Kenosha; and three grandsons.
