She lived in Barron County a few years before moving to Nebraska. Pierce County Call, 3 April 1891 Mitts – At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Roper near Foster on Saturday, March 23, 1891 Mrs. Almira Mitts. The deceased was 70 years and 3 months of age and been a widow for 21 years past, after toiling long and faithfully for her family she quietly passed away from the residence of her daughter where she was spending the evening of her life. The funeral was held on Tuesday the 31st and conducted by Rev. Paske of Pierce and the remains were entered in the Tawney cemetery. The deceased was born in Fulton Co. Illinois December 29, 1820 but lived in Wisconsin most of her life, for four years has been a resident of Pierce county.
