Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Raynold Morneau in Wed., Feb. 21, 1996 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Raynold Morneau Funeral services were Saturday from the Jarocki Funeral Home for Raynold T. "Ray" Morneau, 80, of Rice Lake, who died Feb. 14 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Rev. Gorden Estenson officiated, with burial following in Orchard Beach Cemetery. He was born April 16, 1915 to Fred and Ida Morneau at Dobie, where he grew up and attended school. As a young man, he worked as a milk hauler. He married the former Elaine Block on Sept. 28, 1939. In the early 1940s, he did construction work and helped build the Alaskan Highway and construct an airfield in the Hudson Bay area of Canada. Later, he went into farming in the Barron area and then near Campia before returning to construction as a heavy machine operator. He worked for various companies, including Smith Transfer of Barron and The Town of Barron, retiring in 1982. Mr. Morneau is survived by his wife, Elaine; one son, Alan of Chetek; one daughter, Eileen Weiss of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Joe of Mikana and Edward of Dallas; and four sisters, Laurene Sirek and Rita Jilek, both of Rice Lake, Bernice Malum of Chetek and Gertrude Harsch of Canton, Mich.
