Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Mireau, Mary Angeline (Amans) [married to Hilaire Gilbert Mireau] Obituary of Mary Angeline (Amans) Mireau in May 19, 1965 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Mireau, 86, Rice Lake Native, Buried Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church here for Mrs. Mary Angeline Mireau, 86, lifelong resident of this area who died at a local hospital last Wednesday morning. Rev. Arthur Weber officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mireau was born in a log cabin just east of Rice Lake Oct. 11, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Amans. She grew up in the Campia vicinity, attending school at nearby Dobie. Mrs. Mireau, who had made her home recently at 136 W. Marshall st., was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and Altar society at St. Joseph's. She is survived by two sons, Raymond of Rice Lake and Horace of Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. Philomene La Brie of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Mrs. Grace LaBrie of Kirkland, Wash., Mrs. Louis Lunberg of Frederic and Mrs. Elsie Mlejnek of Rice Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Albin Unger of Seattle, Mrs. Belle Godbout of St. Paul and Mrs. Minnie Wightman of Hayward; two brothers, Frank Amans of Billings, Mont. and Alex of Lacey, Wash. There are also 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren. Her husband, Gilbert, died 17 years ago.
