Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron Co News Shield, Barron, WI - Thursday 14 Jan 1932 page 5 col 6) Hans Nelson Hans Nelson, 71, pioneer resident of Maple Grove, died at his home, Monday, Jan 4, following a sudden heart attack. He had been ill about three hours before the attack. Mr Nelson was born at Atendalen, Norway, May 12, 1860, and came to this country when he was 22 years old. He developed a fine farm in Maple Grove where he resided with his family until his death. He was married to Miss Carrie Knutson, July 10, 1886, and is survived by her; six daughters, Mrs Henry Kisling of Cameron, Mrs Emil Larson and Mrs Carl Larson of Sioux Creek, Mrs Olger Louis of Milwaukee and Miss Mabel Nelson at home; four sons, Melvin of Sioux Creek, Alfred of Hillsdale, Ole of Maple Grove and Sever at home; 11 grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, January 7, at Maple Grove Lutheran church, Rev A O Running officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
