Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron Co News Shield, Barron, WI - Wednesday, 29 Dec 1965 page 4 cols 6 - obituary Martin Nelson, 84, of the town of Dallas died Friday, Dec 24, in the town of Prairie Lake. He was born Dec 27, 1880 at Trondheim, Norway, and came to the town of Dallas when he was three years old. He was married in 1913 to Olava Nordby, who died in 1920. In 1921 he was married to Minnie Ruse, who died in 1963. Also, preceding him in death were five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, Oscar Nelson and Gustave Christianson of Dallas; two daughters, Hilda, Mrs Forrest Sullivan of Rice Lake and Alma, Mrs Floyd Livingston of Cameron; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at New Scandinavia Lutheran church in the town of Maple Grove with Rev Roger Benrud officiating.
