Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Obituary Mrs Mary Nelson Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Dec 1, at the Bethany Lutheran church for Mrs Mary Nelson, 65, of 712 Duke St. Rev A E Berg officiated and burial was in Nora cemetery. Mrs Nelson died at a local hospital Nov 28 after a long illness. She was born April 20, 1884, on the North Sea, enroute to the United States from Norway, the daughter of Inger and Ole Ruse. Her parents settled in Maple Grove township where she spent her girlhood. On Oct 18, 1902, she was married to Anton Nelson. They lived in Dallas until 1915, when they moved to Rice Lake, where Mrs Nelson was living at the time of her death. Surviving are six sons, Oscar, Joseph, Frank, Ingvald and harold, all of Rice Lake, and Adolph of St Paul; one daughter, Mrs Merrill (Nina) Kopping of Cumberland; two brothers, Martin of Minneapolis and Edwin of Maple Grove; one sister, Mrs Martin (Minnie) Nelson of Dallas, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
